After I apply syNeo 5, can I wash myself or shower normally, for the next few days?

Yes, the effect persists for up to 5 days, even after washing the underarms or feet when showering or bathing daily. A subsequent application is only necessary when the effect diminishes.

Is it necessary to apply syNeo 5 everyday, like with other deodorants?

No, it is only necessary to reapply syNeo 5 when the effect diminishes. As a rule, only after up to 5 days, if you perspire freely, or on hot summer days, then sooner as needed.

Why is it better to apply syNeo 5 at night before going to sleep?

At night, before going to sleep the body reduces the metabolic processes and the activity of the sweat glands is likewise reduced. Thus the best possible prerequisites are in place for an effective application of syNeo 5. During the rest phase the antiperspirant can optimally influence the sweat ducts. Due to the reduced production of sweat when sleeping, in addition the possibility of the antiperspirant being conveyed out of the sweat ducts by sweat before it can develop its effect, is also reduced.

Can I use a different deodorant in addition to syNeo 5?

No, you should not use any other deodorant between the days on which you have applied syNeo 5. This can impair the effect of syNeo 5, and due to the different ingredients of the two products, undesired interactions or side effects, such as burning, redness or skin irritations can occur.
Nor would this be necessary, since syNeo effectively reduces body odour. If you are interested in the fragrance of the deodorant, then we recommend using an eau-de-toilette or perfume at a different point on the body (neck, wrist, chest). Since syNeo 5 does not contain any perfumes, it is totally neutral in this regard.

Does syNeo 5 start working the first time it is used?

Yes, syNeo 5 starts working after the first application. This means that unlike other antiperspirants, there is no need to use syNeo 5 several times before an effect occurs.

Can fluctuations occur in the effectiveness of syNeo 5?

Yes, syNeo 5 does not always have the same effect, even when the directions are conscientiously followed.
Just like the entire body, the skin is subject to certain fluctuations due to various factors. Through changes in the temperature or humidity, consumption of coffee, black tea, nicotine, alcohol or pungent spices, stress factors or also hormonal fluctuations (in puberty, for women considerably stronger than for men) the effect of syNeo 5 can fluctuate.
Moreover, after using syNeo 5 for several weeks a certain adaptation effect occurs. The skin “gets used” to the application of syNeo 5, i.e. the discharge openings of the sweat glands of the skin surface are then permanently reduced. This means that syNeo 5 can no longer penetrate into the sweat ducts as effectively. Also the situation can occur that in order to achieve the full effect again, you may have to wait and apply syNeo 5 1 or even 2 days later than usual.
Simply try postponing the application for 1 or 2 days, to give the skin time to enlarge the openings of the sweat glands again. Then the next application can better penetrate. It may be the case that you should maintain this application interval.

Can I support or intensify the effect of syNeo 5 through more frequent use?

You can support the penetration of syNeo 5 by enjoying a hot bath, a steam bath or hot shower before the night-time application. The pores of the skin open to the maximum extent and thus syNeo 5 can optimally penetrate into the sweat ducts of the sweat glands.
You can also apply syNeo 5 at shorter intervals, if this does not cause skin problems. However, in this case we cannot exclude the possibility of parts of the skin drying out or the occurrence of rashes.
Also, please note that with daily use, under some circumstances the effect can even be reduced (customers have reported this to us). This is due to the fact that the opening cross-section of the sweat glands is still reduced from the previous application and in this case syNeo 5, if applied too soon, can no longer penetrate into the sweat ducts. The application then “fizzles out”, i.e. is not effective.

Unlike many other aluminium chloride hexahydrate solutions, why does syNeo 5 have such good skin compatibility in spite of the high effectiveness?

Solutions with a high percentage of aluminium chloride hexahydrate solutions, such as those you can get in the pharmacy, or that many people with undesired sweating mix for themselves, often cause considerable skin irritations, rashes, or even inflammations (so-called granuloma).
Consequently, in syNeo 5, in addition to the aluminium chloride hexahydrate cited above, another more mild and just as effective dialuminium chloride pentahydroxide is used. Through this measure a synergistic increased effectiveness with excellent skin compatibility occurs. The excellent skin compatibility results from the special active ingredient combination in interaction with glycerine, propylene glycol and an allentoin that considerably improves skin compatibility. This is why irritations almost never occur when using syNeo 5.

Can I also use syNeo 5 on the palms of hands, the forehead or other parts of the body?

Yes, you can also use syNeo 5 on the hands. However, because the skin on the palms of the hands differs substantially from the skin of the underarms, the effect, as well as the duration of the effect, can turn out be significantly less than specified.
Generally speaking, naturally you can also use syNeo 5 on other parts of the body. However, in this regard we cannot make any statements concerning the duration of the effect, because extensive empirical data is not present at this time. However, individual customers have already reported using the product on the back, the buttocks, the hollow of the knee, or on the forehead, where likewise good results were achieved.
However you should ensure that syNeo 5 cannot get in the eyes or on the mucous membranes.

Is the function of the sweat glands completely suppressed through syNeo 5, and doesn’t this have a harmful effect?

No, syNeo 5 reduces the cross-section of the opening of the sweat glands, so that they can secrete a lesser amount of sweat on the skin, which then is not perceived as unpleasant.
The function of sweating to regulate body temperature is not impaired by syNeo 5. The sweat glands in the underarms are not relevant for cooling of the body; the armpit surface is much too small to do this (approx. 1% of the skin surface). Also due to the position of the sweat glands in the underarms, they are not suitable for regulating the body temperature, because the sweat that is secreted there cannot properly evaporate.
It is through this poor evaporation of sweat, a subsequent chemical decomposition, and the onset of bacterial growth – favoured by underarm hair – that body odour occurs. Consequently, syNeo 5 contains a substances that prevents the bacterial growth and thus effectively protects against body odour.

I regularly shave underarm hair. What do I need to be aware of?

When shaving, the skin becomes slightly irritated, as a rule due to the alkaline shaving cream. Moreover, when using off-the-shelf wet razors with 2, 3 or 4 blades, each hair is pulled slightly out of its follicle, in order to shave it off deeper. In this process the hair follicle is opened slightly and irritated.
The surrounding skin – if considered precisely – is also slightly scraped off by the other blades that run over it. So that these small wounds do not become infected, you use an aftershave that contains alcohol, which causes the well-known burning in the wounds.
Nothing else would happen with subsequent use of syNeo 5, however the burning due to the salts dissolved in syNeo 5 would be more intense. Consequently, we recommend that you not use syNeo 5 on the same day that you shave.
Nevertheless, use of syNeo 5 on shaved underarms is associated with less problems than occur with deodorants that must be applied every day, i.e. also on the day of shaving, and which thus more frequently induce skin irritations. Because syNeo 5 is effective for up to 5 days, you can shave 1-2 days after application, for example, and enjoy an additional 2-3 days of protection before using syNeo 5 again. This virtually excludes the possibility of skin irritation.

Can shaving underarm hair support the effect of syNeo 5?

Yes, underarm hair enables the bacteria on the skin, which due to the decomposition of sweat are responsible for the occurrence of body odour, to also settle on the hair and thus settle on a surface that is many times larger. Moreover, in the case of thick hair growth sweat evaporates poorly, which additionally favours bacterial growth. Also, washing off the odour-forming bacteria is made more difficult due to underarm hair. Naturally, removing underarm hair does not influence the production of sweat.
With shaved/epilated underarms, syNeo 5 can be applied directly on the skin. Thus the sweat ducts can be reached more effectively. The application is easier to control, and in addition, use is more economical.

Can I use syNeo 5 if I have neurodermatitis or sensitive skin that is susceptible to allergies?

In general, syNeo 5 is well tolerable for persons suffering from neurodermatitis, because it does not contain any perfumes or natural oils.
The allergy potential must be assessed as significantly lower than it is for most deodorants, since as a rule they contain perfumes and other natural oils that are the most frequent sources of allergies. You should not use syNeo 5 if there is a known oversensitivity to alcohol, or one of the other ingredients.
For syNeo 5, through application that is needed only every 5 days, the exposure level (i.e. the effect of the quantity of substances on underarm skin) is much lower than it is for a deodorant, which under some circumstances must be used several times a day.

I experience skin irritations or inflammation when I use other antiperspirants or aluminium chloride hexahydrate solutions. Will this also occur with syNeo 5?

syNeo 5 has been marketed in various European countries since 1995. Since it was introduced we are not aware of any cases, in which use of syNeo 5 resulted in severe irritations or inflammation. However, the possibility of isolated cases of intolerability to individual ingredients cannot be entirely excluded. In this regard note that many cases of incompatibility or skin irritation are triggered by perfumes or natural oils. Consequently, syNeo 5 contains no perfumes or natural oils.
Naturally, syNeo 5 has also been tested for its dermatological compatibility by external institutes. The product is certified with an excellent skin compatibility rating.

Can syNeo 5 permanently alleviate undesired sweating?

Yes, regular use of syNeo 5 can result in a noticeable reduction of sweating. For many affected users it has been possible to permanently reduce sweating with syNeo 5.

I have already tried out many antiperspirants or deodorants. Many do not work as promised in the advertising, or they only work initially. Is syNeo 5 really more effective?

In Internet forums there are consistent reports that the advertised products do not work, or that the effect diminishes or stops altogether after a certain time.
For many people with excessive sweating normal deodorants or antiperspirants do not work satisfactorily. Consequently, in the forums cited above often one-hundred percent pure aluminium chloride hexahydrate solutions are touted. These solutions do indeed have a quite strong effect initially, but after several applications often the effect diminishes or ceases.
Due to the poor dosing capability (via cotton pads or direct application of an undefined quantity) these solutions constrict or seal the openings of the sweat ducts to such an extent that sweat can no longer exit from the sweat glands. However, at the next application (likewise without a specified time interval) for the reasons cited above, the active ingredient can no longer penetrate into the sweat ducts and the effect diminishes or no longer occurs.
By contrast, thanks to the special combination of ingredients and the defined concentration, the excellent dosing capacity, as well as the easy to determine time of a subsequent application, syNeo 5 has a much better effect. The openings of the sweat ducts are significantly reduced in size, but they are not sealed. This ensures that the sweat glands can retain their natural function, without the occurrence of excessive perspiration. At the same time, this means that penetration of the ingredients also remains possible at the next application, so that the effect can remain intact over a long period of time.

Does syNeo 5 also help for athlete’s foot?

No. However, many users report that they perceived the dryer feet, through use of syNeo 5 as quite pleasant. syNeo 5 is not a substitute for pharmaceutical remedies for athlete’s foot.

Can I also use syNeo 5 during pregnancy or the breastfeeding period?

Yes, syNeo 5 can also be used without concern during pregnancy or the breastfeeding period. syNeo 5 only acts on the skin, or in the sweat duct. syNeo 5 does not penetrate into the subcutaneous layers or into the fatty tissue, and consequently does not get into the metabolism or the blood stream.
syNeo 5 has been tested for dermatological compatibility in external laboratories and has been certified with an excellent skin compatibility rating. The ingredients contained in syNeo 5 are approved in accordance with the Cosmetic Regulation, and in some cases have been used in cosmetics over several decades. In this regard, only ingredients are approved, which according to constantly updated scientific findings do not have a genetically harmful effect, or any other harmful effect.

Can syNeo products also be used for children?

We recommend the use of syNeo products only for children 10 and above.
In every case an adult should apply the product to prevent the child from accidentally spraying the product into the eyes or on mucus membranes, or incorrectly dosing the product. Children 13 and above are allowed to apply the syNeo products themselves.

What is the shelf life of the syNeo products? How is the batch number decrypted?

When stored properly (in the bathroom, no direct sunlight, max. 25°C) all syNeo products have a shelf-life of at least 30 months. Consequently, in accordance with the Cosmetic Regulation, specification of a shelf-life date is not required.
The 5-digit batch number indicates the day of production (first 3 digits) and the year of production (last 2 digits). Thus you can determine the remaining shelf life of your syNeo product for yourself.
A slight clouding of the syNeo 5 products that occurs if stored too long or incorrectly is normal and does not impair the effectiveness.

Why do some syNeo products not bear a shelf-life date or the symbol “Usability after opening”?

Since March 2005, the Cosmetic Regulation has stipulated for all cosmetic products with a shelf life longer than 30 months, a marking in the form of a small container of cream with a number and the letter M in it. However, in accordance with the IKW directives this applies only for products that can be opened and can be contaminated through input of germs, for example, and thus can become unusable. This marking does not apply for disposable packages, consequently the syNeo 5 travel pack does not bear a “Usability after opening symbol”.
For the syNeo pump sprays, contamination through the hermetically sealed pump mechanism is not possible. Even if syNeo products have been sold in a package to be opened, this marking would be dispensed with, since due to the nature of their composition, the syNeo products cannot become contaminated.

What does the small symbol with the container of cream mean?

The symbol means that regardless of the shelf life, the product can be used for 24 months after first opening. This means that safe use must be ensured for 24 months after first use. If stored properly, within this period the product must not become spoiled or become unusable through the presence of household germs.

After a while the pump mechanism stops working, is there a remedy for this situation?

Yes, through crystallization of the substances dissolved in syNeo 5 the pump can block or the spray head can clog. In this case pull off the spray head and rinse it with warm water, or poke a straightened-out paper clip into the uptake tube until the fluid rises. The will restore the function of the pump mechanism. Then fit the spray head back on.
